An IRS agent with a fateful secret embarks on an extraordinary journey of redemption by forever changing the lives of seven strangers.
Before starting my review I will note 2 things: 1) To enjoy the movie you have to like Will Smith and 2) You need to suspend reality slightly and go with the probability of the story.
With that said I really enjoyed Seven Pounds. I thought Will Smith gave one of his best performances ever. As the story plays out you try to figure out why he is doing what he does and he really does a great job of capturing the audience. The supporting cast isn't as good, but Rosario Dawson holds her own and puts up a decent performance. I won't spoil any of the story, but in general it is a very sad movie and it touches on some taboo subjects such as suicide.
As mentioned above you do need to suspend your reality slightly with the chain of events because some of things may or may not be possible, but for the sake of the movie I thought they were well put together. Seven Pounds has gotten quite a few bad reviews from critics, but I'd recommend it to anyone because I found a lot of good qualities within the movie.
